I ran a local business built around road safety, the issue residents in Ward 4 raise with me most.
A lifetime dedicated to service
I served as a veteran and a UN peacekeeper. Serving Ward 4 is the next chapter.
Why I'm running
"I'm not coming to Ward 4 to campaign. I already live here, I already work here, and I already raise my family here."
- South Barrie has grown fast. New subdivisions, more traffic, and thousands of us in neighbourhoods that didn't exist a decade ago.
- What hasn't kept pace is the sense that anyone at City Hall is looking out for this corner of the city.
- Ward 4 is new, and it should be represented by someone who is already part of it.
- That's why I'm running.
Not a campaign run from a desk
- I've walked this ward street by street, on foot.
- I've spoken face to face with 1,000+ residents.
- Not a mailing list. Not a phone bank. Doorsteps.
- Every priority on this page came from those conversations, not from a strategy meeting.
What 1,000 residents have told me
These priorities didn't come from a strategy session. They came from doorsteps across Ward 4, in the order residents actually raised them.
A councillor who is actually from Ward 4
- The thing residents say most: they want Ward 4 represented by someone from Ward 4, not someone from outside it.
- Ahmad lives on MacLaren Avenue. He is on these streets and in these parks every day.
- He doesn't need an introduction to the ward, because he already lives in it.
Better snow removal
- The plow goes by and buries the driveway you just finished clearing.
- Push for windrow relief for every household on the street, not a special request line.
- Hold contractors to standards that match what residents actually experience on side streets and courts.
Traffic calming
- Speeding on residential streets, with Hurst Drive raised more than anywhere else in the ward.
- Real traffic calming on the streets residents keep flagging.
- Backed by a career in road safety, not guesswork.
Community safety and infrastructure
- Police resourcing and visibility that reflects how fast south Barrie has grown.
- Roads, sidewalks and parks that keep pace with the ward we are becoming.
- New development pays its fair share of the infrastructure it demands.

Barrie's ward boundaries changed for 2026. Many residents who voted in Ward 8 or Ward 10 last election will vote in Ward 4 this October.
